Our purpose
Mission
Free Press Times exists to champion independent thought in an era of noise.
We believe that a well-informed public is the foundation of a healthy society. Free Press Times was founded on the conviction that journalism, philosophy, literature, and financial clarity are not separate disciplines — they are threads of the same fabric.
Our publication curates voices that challenge, provoke, and illuminate. We draw on the wisdom of thinkers across centuries — from Confucius to Shakespeare, from Mark Twain to Kurt Vonnegut — because the questions that matter most have always been with us.
We are independent. We answer to no advertiser, no political party, and no institutional interest. Our only obligation is to the reader and to the truth as best we can discern it.
In the tradition of the free press, we believe that sunlight is the best disinfectant and that the first rough draft of history deserves to be written with care, courage, and clarity.
What we stand for
Independence
We are beholden to no sponsor, party, or institution. Our editorial judgment is our own.
Intellectual Rigor
We hold ideas to a high standard — sourcing carefully, reasoning clearly, and acknowledging complexity.
Enduring Wisdom
We look to history's great thinkers not as relics but as living voices with something urgent to say.
Clarity
Good writing is a form of respect for the reader. We strive for prose that is precise, readable, and honest.
